Alan Farnham is senior writer for development at Philanthropy Roundtable. Prior to joining the Roundtable, he held the same position at the Manhattan Institute in New York City, where he drafted reports and proposals for individual donors and foundations.
Alan comes from the world of journalism. He joined Fortune magazine in 1985, rising from fact-checker to reporter to associate editor, then moving on to Forbes, where he served as senior editor of the magazine’s lifestyle section. Knowing nothing about business proved an impediment at neither publication.
Alan graduated cum-laude-general-studies (meaning: not quite cum laude—but close) from Harvard College with a degree in English literature.
