WASHINGTON – February 15, 2023 – Philanthropy Roundtable announced that nominations are open for its annual Simon-DeVos Prize, which recognizes philanthropic excellence by honoring a living philanthropist who has shown exemplary leadership through his or her own charitable giving. Highlighting the values proven to strengthen communities and improve individual lives, the Prize’s purpose is to emphasize the impact of private philanthropy and inspire others to support charities that achieve results.
Each year, Philanthropy Roundtable presents $200,000 to a charitable organization of the winner’s choice. The Prize seeks to advance the principles of personal responsibility, resourcefulness, volunteerism, scholarship, individual freedom, faith in God and helping people to help themselves.
“Despite economic challenges and uncertainty, generous Americans continue to support effective charitable organizations every day. We are honored to recognize another outstanding philanthropic leader with the 2023 Simon-DeVos Prize and celebrate their impact,” said Elise Westhoff, president and CEO of Philanthropy Roundtable. “We are grateful to the Simon and DeVos families for their wonderful support, which allows us to highlight these incredible philanthropists and inspire others to support their communities.”
Nominations for the Simon-DeVos Prize are welcome through March 22, 2023, and can be submitted here. A selection committee will review the nominations, and the 2023 Prize will be presented at the Roundtable’s annual meeting in October before a large audience of donors.
