Recently, Philanthropy Roundtable Director of Policy Research Jack Salmon met with host of The Eight Principles Voices podcast Larry C. Johnson to discuss issues facing philanthropy, including donor intent and threats to donor privacy. With Salmon pointing to the latest research on the issues, he discussed why donor intent is critical to building trust between a donor and grantee and why philanthropic freedom is vital to a thriving philanthropic sector.
“The overarching mission of the Roundtable is to protect philanthropic freedom by advancing liberty, opportunity and personal responsibility,” said Salmon. “And what that ultimately means is we really believe that those who benefit from charity the most are best served when Americans are free to give generously, when, where and how they choose to do so.”
